9.9 Billion Credentials Exposed In History's Biggest Password Leak

While many of us watched fireworks and gobbled down hot dogs on July 4, hackers leaked the biggest compilation of stolen passwords known to cybersecurity researchers. The list, referred to by the leakers as RockYou2024, contains "a staggering 9,948,575,739 unique plaintext passwords." That's according to Cybernews, a research-based outlet whose investigators spotted the password compilation Thursday.  Someone using the screen name.
